WinAudit :: Install/Remove WinAudit
|
System Requirements
WinAudit requires a PC with a Pentium® processor and Windows® 95 or above.
To send the audit report by e-mail your computer needs an e-mail programme along
with the so-called Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI). This is a standard software component and virtually all computers will already have it installed.
To export the audit report to a database, Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and the
ODBC driver for the database must be installed on the computer.
To save the audit report in compiled html (chm) format the computer must have Html Help Workshop installed. This is a Microsoft® utility and is available for download from their website.
Unicode Note: The Unicode version (WinAuditu.exe) requires Windows® NT4, Windows® 2000, Windows® XP or newer.
Installing WinAudit
WinAudit is 'ready to run'. It has been designed so that you do not need to go through a setup procedure.
The programme neither install files onto the computer nor modifies the system registry. WinAudit is a well-behaved auditing programme in the sense that it attempts not to alter the computer it is examining.
Tip: to create a shortcut on your computer's desktop select:

Removing WinAudit
Because WinAudit did not install any files onto the computer, there is no un-install procedure. Simply delete the programme file WinAudit.exe and possibly WinAudit.ini that may have been created. If you created a desktop shortcut, you should delete that as well.
Unicode Note: The executable file for the Unicode version is WinAuditu.exe .
